The Northwest Tourism Services Association continues to advance the modernization and digitalization of the tourism offerings in its member municipalities by acquiring six state-of-the-art drones for tourism purposes—one for each municipality in the Association. This initiative is part of the Tourism Sustainability Plan for Destinations (PSTD) and aligns with the objectives of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (PRTR) and the Tourism Sustainability Strategy for Destinations, all aimed at fostering a more innovative, sustainable, and competitive tourism model.

A tool to showcase the territory from a new perspective
The new equipment will significantly enhance the municipalities’ ability to capture images and videos of their tourism assets, facilitating the creation of audiovisual content for promotional campaigns, social media, websites, and other digital platforms.
The drones will be specifically geared towards showcasing and highlighting the territory’s natural, cultural, heritage, and tourism attractions, offering an aerial perspective of sites and resources that helps enhance their promotion and visibility.
In addition to their use for content creation, these systems will be able to contribute to the monitoring and analysis of tourism resources and the territory, strengthening capabilities linked to the development of a smart tourism destination.

A commitment to tourism digitalization
Incorporating these technological tools will reduce reliance on external audiovisual resources and facilitate the creation of in-house content, thereby enhancing municipalities’ ability to promote their tourism assets in an agile and appealing manner.
The initiative thus contributes to several objectives of the Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan, including smart tourism promotion, the creation of high-quality audiovisual content, the digitalization of the destination, and the enhancement of tourism competitiveness through the use of emerging technologies.
With this new provision, the Association of Municipalities reinforces its commitment to incorporating technological solutions that enhance the digital tourism experience, showcase the territory’s heritage and resources, and project the tourism image of the Northwest municipalities to new audiences and markets.
The project has a budget of €5,594.02 (VAT included) and covers the supply of six unmanned aircraft and their corresponding accessories.
